TIA Portal, answered.
What TIA Portal file formats does PLCs.ai support?
Any TIA Portal project that supports Siemens' Openness API — which covers the vast majority of TIA Portal projects in production today. Our Desktop Companion App uses Openness to export your project directly from TIA Portal, so there's no manual export step or format wrangling.
Is my Siemens code used to train AI models?
No. Your project data is isolated per organization and is never used to train PLCs.ai's models or any third-party model.
Does PLCs.ai support PackML or ISA-88?
Yes. PLCs.ai supports PackML and ISA-88 standards, common in Siemens-based packaging and batch process lines.
Can I mix TIA Portal and Studio 5000 PLCs on the same line?
Yes. 3D Line Context groups every PLC on a production line — Siemens and Allen-Bradley included — into a single intelligent surface you can query in plain English.
Does PLCs.ai only read the project file, or can it see live data too?
Both. Static analysis reads your TIA Portal project as committed; the Desktop Companion App can also stream live tag values and history straight from the running controller, so troubleshooting reflects what's actually happening on the line right now.
Does PLCs.ai connect to my version control?
Yes. GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Copia, and octoplant are all live today, connected read-write — no migration, no duplicate copies of your TIA Portal project.
